  1. I recently purchased bitcoin on cash app amd it took forever to verify. But it finally when through the other day. I'm having a problem trying to withdraw bitcoin though. I see deposit bitcoin and send bitcoin. But it doesn't give me an option to withdraw (or even enable it) does anyone know what I should do to activate withdrawals.

Cash App charges two kinds of fees for bitcoin transactions: a service fee for each transaction and, depending on market activity, an additional fee determined by price volatility across U.S. Currently, Cash App allows you to purchase up to 10,000 worth of Bitcoin a week. You can withdrawal up to $2,000 of Bitcoin a day or $5,000 a week.

Cash App instantly reimburses ATM fees, including ATM operator fees, for customers who get $300 (or more) in paychecks directly deposited into their Cash App each month. Unemployment Insurance deposits also qualify for enabling ATM reimbursements.

Once you have successfully activated free ATM withdrawals, each qualifying deposit you receive after that will add an additional 31 days of ATM fee reimbursements.

To activate direct deposits:

  1. Tap the Banking tab
  2. Select Deposits & Transfers
  3. Select Copy Account Details
  4. Provide your account and routing numbers to your employer

To get a direct deposit form:

  1. Tap the Banking tab on your Cash App home screen
  2. Select Deposits & Transfers
  3. Select Get Direct Deposit Form
  4. Fill out your employer information, the amount you would like to be deposited from each paycheck, and provide your signature
  5. Select Email Form and enter the recipient address before tapping send

Your completed direct deposit form can be viewed at any time by tapping Get Direct Deposit Form from the Banking tab and selecting View Previous Form.

Once you have received qualifying direct deposits totaling $300 (or more), Cash App will reimburse fees for 3 ATM withdrawals per 31 days, and up to $7 in fees per withdrawal.

Yes. Cash App is required by law to file a copy of the Form 1099-B to the IRS for the applicable tax year.

How is the proceeds amount calculated on the form?

The proceeds box amount on the Form 1099-B shows the net cash proceeds from your Bitcoin sales. This means that it shows the total value of your Bitcoin sales for the tax year, but does not account for how much you paid to buy the Bitcoin (your cost basis).

How do I figure out my gains or losses and cost basis?

Please refer to the “Transactions CSV” located in your Cash App. To access your Transactions CSV:

  1. Tap on the profile icon

What if I trade cryptocurrencies on multiple exchanges including Cash App?

Cash App only provides records of your bitcoin transactions on Cash App. If you trade cryptocurrencies on other exchanges you will need to obtain transaction and tax information from them.
